I’m currently feeling:
Respectful.
My thoughts creating this feeling :
Today is the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Like most towers we will be ringing for the hour leading up to the start of the funeral service. C and I will take it in turns again to toll one of our half-muffled bells. We will miss being able to watch the service unless we sit with the Vergers again as we did for the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh. If that doesn’t happen I’ll watch it on catch up as the news channels only select certain parts.
My desired feeling:
Rested.
Thoughts to practice to create my desired feeling:
There has been a lot going on that has either required physical or mental effort over the Last 10 days, including having to manage my own thoughts and emotions from some of the fallout and nastiness on social media. As we are given this extra day off for the state funeral I shall use it as an opportunity to reflect, relax and refresh as I have a busy week ahead.
I’ll show up on purpose in my dress, body language and presentation by:
I am wearing all black as a mark of respect and as I will be videoing our ringing for our twitter page. I have simple gold earrings but have added an extra gold and diamond ring. It was the ring C bought me at the Millennium. I hardly ever wear it but decided to get it out today.
I will show up for myself by:
Taking care of my own needs today.
I will show up for my extraordinary goal by:
Respond to only urgent emails but plan in responses to some of the longer standing ones.
I will upgrade my surroundings by:
Wearing my Millennium rung in addition to my standard rings. I will look for occasions to swap out my jewellry more often.
Today I am:
Making firm plans and scheduling them in to hold myself accountable forgetting them done.
Today I am grateful for:
The to being able to show the funeral in all its pagentry and contemplativeness so that we can feel a part of this moment in history.
