I’m currently feeling:
Nervous.
My thoughts creating this feeling :
I’ve been asked to run a breakout session this evening as part of an event about ringing. My part is to discuss PR and making the most of opportunities. I have not been given any indication how long I have or what to cover, or say. So I have no clues how it’s supposed to go. I was only asked on friday so I haven’t really had a chance to ask any questions, or get any indication of what they really want me to do.
My desired feeling:
Calm.
Thoughts to practice to create my desired feeling:
I have a couple of hours this afternoon to pull some thoughts together. I can have backup of a more formal style but I’d rather do a more interactive session. I can have some examples to share as back up but need to research those and have them ready to share on screen. I can take a bit of time to prepare and assume I’ll have 10-15 minutes or so.
I’ll show up on purpose in my dress, body language and presentation by:
Mostly ringing and chores today. Jeans, tshirt and cardigan. Basic jewellry. I’ll do some preparations this afternoon and research some good and bad examples of PR activity. I’ll be enthusiastic about the topic and encourage others to think for themselves.
I will show up for myself by:
Preparing my breakfasts and lunches for the week ahead and plan my outfits for work after I’ve done the ironing and put things away.
I will show up for my extraordinary goal by:
Delivering this breakout session and showing people I can deliver good content at short notice, engage people and inspire them.
I will upgrade my surroundings by:
Tidying my little corner of the sofa. Books and magazines can be sorted through and cleared out if no longer required.
Today I am:
Delivering. On my content. On my tasks. On my EG. On my purpose.
Today I am grateful for:
C is obviously getting better. He got through yesterday ok. Sounded a bit growly but other than that didn’t lose his voice. I think he slept well last night and apart from clearing his throat a lot a coughing a bit, he seems to be in much less real discomfort. tHopefully we’ve seen the back of whatever it was that started it.
