A couple of weeks ago I had a routine cervical smear test done at my GP. The results arrived yesterday and all negative. I wasn’t particularly worried about the results but it was good to get confirmation all was ok. It was there of course I had the whole drama of blood pressure uncovered. Today I’m off to the hospital for blood tests then tomorrow I’m having an ECG. All of this done through the NHS for free. The only thing I’ll have to pay for is an ongoing prescription if it’s agreed I’ll need medication for the rest of my life.
My desired feeling:
Excited.

We are off to London for the day and meeting up with R on her day off. She decided where we should go and has selected Greenwich to the Royal Maritime Museum. None of us has been there before. We’ll be meeting up mid-journey at Canary Wharf as that’s a changing place for all of us. Will be good to see her again, first time in the flesh since Christmas.
I’ll show up on purpose in my dress, body language and presentation by:
Need to be comfortable for doing lots of walking, both indoors and outside. Dark green jeans and a Wallis pale grey jumper with three quarter length sleeves (ready for having blood taken first). Gibraltar bracelet, elongated hoop earrings R bought me and my Pandora charm necklace C and R gave me the first time I graduated. I’ll be wearing walking boots as it could be quite mucky walking about. Will be looking forward to seeing R and going new places and dining out.
I will show up for myself by:
Preparing for my blood tests by fasting for 12 hours. Luckily I booked an early morning slot which basically meant after dinner last night I couldn’t have anything else. I don’t usually eat breakfast before 8am most days anyway so that’s not an issue, I can have it when I get back home before getting the train. The only thing I’m missing is my coffee, but I can enjoy that later too.
I will show up for my extraordinary goal by:
Focussing on the people that matter. Spending a day with C and R exploring somewhere new. Eating out in London. Visiting places of historic interest and enjoying the day.
I will upgrade my surroundings by:
Travelling by train into London then on the DLR to Canary Wharf where we’ll meet up with R, then on to Greenwich. Museums, shops, open spaces, food and plenty of walking and culture with my two favourite people.
Today I am:
Doing what I want with who I want.
Today I am grateful for:
A daughter who still wants to hang out with her parents. Who will take the initiative to investigate interesting places to visit. Who never expects. Who never asks or begs. Who is confident travelling anywhere on her own. Who is just all round awesome.
