I’m currently feeling:
Hopeful.
My thoughts creating this feeling:
Today is District Quarter Peal Day. Only this time yours truly is attempting to call 2 of them. This morning I will be attempting something I’ve never done before, to call a quarter of Plain Bob Minor. I have a good band around meso they shouldn’t need putting right. It’s just down to me to put the right calls in the right places. After lunch I’ll be calling a quarter of Plain Bob Doubles. I’ve done that several times before so I’m less bothered by that, although the band is less experienced and may need more help, but there are others in the band who can do that whilst I concentrate on what I’m doing.
My desired feeling:
Delighted.
My thoughts creating this feeling:
Fingers crossed both quarters will be successful. In between we’ll be having a pub lunch and I’ve ordered something light but filling. After all that ringing we’re heading to Bury St Edmunds for the Suffolk Guide anniversary dinner. There should be lots of people we know there and a good evening. We’re staying overnight so don’t have to worry about one of us not having a drink or the long drive have late at night. I’m looking forward to the whole day, even though a bit nervous about calling the quarters. If I got this morning’s one, I’ll be happy even if we don’t get this afternoons.
I‘ll show up on purpose in my dress, body language and presentation by:
Standard ringing attire of jeans and lilac tshirt. Gibraltar bracelet, birthstones necklace and diamond stud earrings. Then for the dinner this evening a dark maroon silk dress with matching open patterned top to add some texture. Heeled shoes. Gold cuff bracelet and garnet necklace and earrings.
I will show up for myself by:
Concentrating on what I am calling and getting the right calls in the right places. Determined to be succesful in both quarters. Met everyone else for lunch in between and catch up with C and see how his morning went. Then dressing up and being charming and elegant at dinner this evening.
I will upgrade my surroundings by:
This evenings dinner venue is a posh restaurant so dressing up, mingling with friends for a lovely end to the day.
I will show up for my extra ordinary goal by:
Being focussed on successful outcomes to the day’s ringing. Not getting annoyed if it doesn’t go well.
Today I am:
Stepping up.
Today I am grateful for:
Opportunities to expand my ringing skills even after 41 years of ringing. It’s only really in the last 10 years or so I’ve pushed myself further, learned more complex methods, not chickened out and just rung the treble. I’ve never really been one for calling touches or quarter peals but starting to learn that more and practice it with others.
