Ataraxy

I’m currently feeling:
Awesome.

My thoughts creating this feeling:
I had some pretty big tasks on my To Do List for yesterday. Before C went out ringing mid-morning I had already blasted through a number of emails and had a good tidy up of all my inboxes. I had gone through a number that were to do with updating information on Bell Sunday. That included writing an article for the Ringing World. After C went out, I walked into town to look for sports bras for my workouts. There was extremely little choice for the larger busted person with strong control. The best I could get was medium control. I figured as I wasn’t sure how well they’d work, I wasn’t going to waste lots of money on them but found a bargain if I bought 2 of the same brand. I just need to test them out now.

When I got back home I got back to the computer and busted out another article, prompted by someone who wanted some recognition for something they’d done. Personally, I thought it was a bit cheeky, but it did serve as a reminder not to take volunteers for granted. I wrote the article in a way that acknowledges all levels of bellringing volunteers, but used this person as a specific example.

I ended up chairing a meeting in the afternoon that I thought more people would be at, and that someone else had invited me to, so wasn’t expecting to take charge. It was quite useful actually, as if I’m successful in my nomination for Deputy President I’ll be running that event anyway.
I bashed out the hardest JWW yet and struggled with some of the exercises, but it will be good to see progress when I do that workout again. I got my subscription renewal to join for the full year at the discounted price as well, so I managed to get that sorted, I think. It wasn’t a straight forward process. Fingers crossed it worked anyway.

My desired feeling:
Ataraxy.

My thoughts creating this feeling:
Calm and untroubled. We have the morning to ourselves, but then need to get to Burnham on Crouch to ring in a competition, from there dash to Hornchurch to practice for another competition. The timings overlap due to the afternoon event being pushed back on hour and the lack of planning by the organiser of the second event. I know there are going to be several sets of frayed nerves and grumpy comments flying around and I will do my best not to become one of them, and avoid those that are.

We won’t get to have a meal this evening because the timings of the events don’t allow. I’m not overly worried about that, but if people are hangry as well it won’t bode well.

I‘ll show up on purpose in my dress, body language and presentation by:
Practical for ringing. Grey jeans, white and blue patterned tshirt. Gibraltar bracelet, birthstones necklace and diamond studs. Standard ringing outfit. Nothing glamorous. Although I did get around to painting my nails last night. I haven’t worn nail varnish for a couple of months to give my nails a chance to recover and get more strength.

I will show up for myself by:
Staying out of any petty squabbles this afternoon/evening. Going with the flow and letting be what will be.

I will upgrade my surroundings by:
We’ll probably walk into town later this morning. Need to get various birthday cards for people. Its starting to get sunny out so will be pleasant to walk in the sunshine.

I will show up for my extra ordinary goal by:
One of the outcomes of all of yesterday’s productivity is to arrange a screening of some filming I’d commissioned for one evening next week. I want to strike whilst the iron’s hot and get an invite sent out quickly to give people a chance to make arrangements to attend.

Today I am:
In a good place.

Today I am grateful for:
A lovely shop assistant who helped me yesterday. I’d gone into River Island and found a lovely blush coloured silk skirt. I’d been looking for something like that for ages. As it had a slight pinkness about it, I was wondering what would go with it. I asked a shop assistant it she could give me some advice on what would work well. She took me around the shop and we looked at various styles and colours and she didn’t try the hard sell on me. She was very polite and helpful. I bought the skirt and another dress, safe in the knowledge of what will go with them.
