I’m currently feeling:
Delighted.
My thoughts creating this feeling:
Had a most wonderful day yesterday. We got a train into London then headed to a friends office where we could leave our luggage before checking into our hotel. We walked to Garlickhythe where C joined the wedding family to ring a quarter peal. I sat and listened. We all went to lunch further along the river and I was pleased to have chosen something fairly light. We walked back along the river to the office to collect our luggage and made our way to our hotel. We have a room with a view of the river which was nice. After a rest we made our way back along the south bank of the river to the evening drinks venue. We met up with more people we know and saw several other familiar faces. A couple of drinks and something to eat in a very busy venue, but good fun. Walking back along the north side of the river at twilight was rather magical with the city lights. Party boats with music blaring drift down the river. Lovers kissing on the bridges with the Tower Bridge in the background. It was all very pretty, romantic and just gorgeous. Of course, none of it rubbed off on C! We got back to our room and read for a while before going to sleep. My fitbit had clocked up 9.27 miles and it didn’t feel like it at all.
My desired feeling:
Blessed.
My thoughts creating this feeling:
Its wedding day today so we have time to breakfast well then relax a bit before getting ready. I’m looking forward to wearing my outfit although my shoes are going to be problematic for walking too fast. I’m really looking forward to being at the wedding, watching, being part of the select few invited to the full event. It’s going to be a very relaxed affair, no pomp and over ceremony. There’s speeches but no formal wedding cake or too much fuss. The bride and groom will be walking with everyone else from the church, across the bridge to the reception venue. The bride’s mother has sparkly pink trainers for it! C’s ex will be there but not at the reception. We’ll hopefully stay clear of them for the most part.
I‘ll show up on purpose in my dress, body language and presentation by:
My dress is navy blue with bright coloured sequined flower patterns. The top part is see through and is supposed to button up but my bust gets in the way. I think it looks better unbuttoned anyway. I’ll be wearing vintage sapphire drop earrings and a sapphire and diamond pendant necklace. I have navy wedge sandals which means I’d need to be more careful when walking. I’m also going to wear some shapewear underneath to hold everything in and up. I can’t decide whether or not to wear a headband to keep my hair out of the way. I’ll try them on when I’m dressed.
I will show up for myself by:
I’m going to have a lovely day. Not going to over drink, despite the free bar later. I’m going to ignore certain people and have a lovely day watching 2 very special people get married.
I will upgrade my surroundings by:
Can’t get much more upgrade than Southwark Cathedral and the Oyster Shed. Walks along the Thames past some iconic sites. A beautiful wedding of 2 young people who are very much suited.
I will show up for my extra ordinary goal by:
I’m sure there’ll be lots of ringers at the evening reception, will either know, or they’ll know us. Apart from that, nothing else to do today except enjoy the wedding.
Today I am:
Living an extraordinary life.
Today I am grateful for:
Being a part of this day. Having a fabulous hotel room, in the centre of the city, spectacular views and wonderful people to be around.
