My 30 Day Goal is:
Enjoy the Christmas period whilst still taking care of exercise and fueling my body well without missing out.
Current Thought:
Very productive day yesterday. Got Dad’s birthday cake decorated and finished. Tidied up R’s bedroom, enough for her to get in and out for now anyway. Started at the top of the house vacuuming everywhere, including the lampshades. Did the top two floors of the house at least. More tidying in the kitchen required before doing the ground floor. Went round to visit a friend who’d had a knee replacement op last week, and had a good chat with her. She seems to be getting on well, walking about with one stick. R arrived home shortly after we did. She had a good explore of the kitchen cupboards and we all had a really good natter over dinner, then sat all together on the sofa. We talked about what books she’s reading at the moment, her plans to visit friends in Glasgow when we’re in Canada next May. It was lovely to hear her and see her raid the snacks and be comfortable. I told her my retirement plans and we talked about redecorating her room next year, so she went straight into looking at colours and deciding what it should be. It’s lovely to have her home and chatty.

Todays Standard:
I am a woman who:
loves hearing R’s news and having really intelligent conversations with her. She doesn’t really tell us much otherwise, so it’s good to get her updates. Today is the family gathering, predominantly for Dad’s birthday, but also includes the christmas present swap. I’m not going to get involved in the bill payment this time, having been stitched up last time paying for things others had but didn’t own up to. We’ll go to HQ for cake after lunch, then we have a get out as R needs to be on a train. I have food prep for the week ahead to do, and we have a Zoom meeting this evening.
Todays Sweet Spot:
I think:
I’ll keep my thoughts to myself, and be polite.
I feel:
It’ll probably be ok, these things are often not as bad as we think they’re going to be.
I do:
1) (body) no ringing today, and no workout. Hmm!
2) (mind) need to manage my mind around certain family members and during this evening’s meeting.
3) (soul) prep food for the week ahead at work.

If you are flexible to change your perception of others, they can do the same regarding you.
Celebrations/Gratitudes:
Love having R home and chatting about her world. It’ll be a fleeting visit, but she’ll be back again for Christmas Eve for a few days.
