Exploratory

My 30 Day Goal is:
Enjoy the Christmas period whilst still taking care of exercise and fueling my body well without missing out.

Current Thought:
Had a slow start to the day. Took R back to hers mid morning, got there around lunchtime. Had a quick nosey around her house share and room. Then we drove to a nearby National Trust house and gardens. We had lunch then walked around. It wasn’t very big, and the house isn’t generally open, but it was quite a nice little walk R seems to have done a few times since living there. We dropped her back at hers then came home. Arrived back late afternoon and after some reading and a cuppa, I did a dumbbell workout. I am determined not to wimp out and use lighter weights because it’s easier. I used my 7.5kgs and did struggle on a few overhead moves, but kept going until I lost form. 60 seconds on and 25 seconds rest is along time on each move. Spent the rest of the evening reading, watching tv and gaming.

Current Emotion
Exploratory.

Todays Standard:
I am a woman who:
will explore what it will be like once I’m retired. We don’t have any particular plans today. I will do a workout, maybe even two later. I do have a meeting at 6pm but otherwise the day is free. Maybe I’ll suggest a walk, or go for one myself. Try to clear my desk of stuff that got put there, mostly C’s stuff, whilst we had visitors.

Todays Sweet Spot:
I think:
Today could be a bit of a trial of what retirement could look like. I can do what I want, pretty much.

I feel:
Intrigued as to how I will fill my day and what things I could get interested in.

I do:
1) (body) at least one workout. Maybe try to go for a walk, or do two workouts.
2) (mind) find ways to keep occupied and things that could be of future interest.
3) (soul) take time to relax. I don’t have to be anywhere, or do anything.

Future Self Pep Talk:
Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least.

Celebrations/Gratitudes:
It’s been lovely having R home for several days. There were no fallouts. She willingly came for hugs and sat with us. She came ringing, even if she probably didn’t want to. She went along with everything, and slotted right in. She was chatty, funny, interesting and kind. I hope it’s not too long before we see her again.
